This spec ad is for ASICS in downtown Kuwait, working with athletes Abdullah Alfoudry and Feras Alothman. While cycling photography has been my main focus, this project was an exciting step into broader sports and outdoor photography. The vision was to showcase Kuwait’s running culture in a way that challenges common perceptions—highlighting an athletic community in a place that isn’t widely recognized for it. The story contrasts what people might assume about Kuwait with the reality on the ground, weaving in the energy and movement of running.
This project was a comprehensive undertaking, where I was involved in every step from location scouting to directing, shooting, and post-production. While I initially saw location scouting as a challenge, it quickly turned into an opportunity; Kuwait may not be known for its shooting locations, but if you know where to look, there’s plenty to work with. The process pushed me to think creatively about urban backdrops, movement, and composition, refining my ability to tell a story through action photography.
This project reinforced my passion for capturing movement and culture through sport, and I’m looking to expand further into sports creative photography—both in personal projects and commercial work.
